ARTIST STATEMENT

Pace:Repeat was created to be an abstraction of fitness movement progressions. I am intrigued by the cyclical nature of exercise, filled with rhythm, breath and an endless movement vocabulary. This piece explores the nuances of imperfect repetition and the dissatisfaction of moving without really going anywhere.

Note to the Viewers

This piece can be viewed from the front parameters of the room as well as the staircase. You are encouraged to float around during the performance to experience different perspectives of the movement. The total duration of the piece is approximately 20 minutes. The performance will revolve 3 times with no breaks.
