Half/Dozen is pleased to present This Close That Far by artist Lisa Berry. This body of work explores how unknown figures become guides to curious new places.
Sometimes from a distance, sometimes up close and other times out of the image all together, Lisa’s work focuses on the figures that direct us. These mysterious guides are showing us the worlds they inhabit while leading us into new ones. Lisa uses a traditional medium format film and camera for all her work.
Lisa Berry was born in Indiana in 1982. She received a BFA in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI in 2004. She moved to Bloomington, IN with her husband in 2008 where she continues to make pictures. She is currently the curator of photography at Pictura Gallery.
